After more than 25 years of dedication and service, Kenny Wooten has been promoted to Crushing Operations Supervisor, a role that reflects both his experience and the respect he has earned across the organization. Kenny’s career has spanned multiple divisions, including asphalt plants, wash plants, and, most recently, the crusher site in Hernando, Mississippi. This broad operational background has prepared him to step into a leadership role overseeing three crushers across Memphis Stone & Gravel, A Granite Company, that produce specialty materials for asphalt plants and concrete used in TDOT projects.
Known for his work ethic and attention to detail, Kenny is widely respected for how he maintains his equipment and leads his team. Shannon Minga, Total Process Reliability Coordinator, describes Kenny as meticulous and says his front-end loader is among the cleanest in the company. He takes pride in keeping his cab spotless and his equipment in top condition, treating his machine as if it were brand new each day. That commitment is not about appearance alone. It reflects a deeper discipline that drives safety, reliability, and performance.
Kenny‘s leadership style is rooted in humility and accountability. Alan Parks, Vice President, says Kenny is easy to follow because of his authenticity and team-first mindset. “Kenny leads by example and brings extraordinary humility to the workplace,“ Alan says. “It‘s clear he has mastered the daily operations of crushing, but it‘s who he is as a leader that really stands out. As Memphis Stone & Gravel takes on all aspects of crushing operations, I have no doubt Kenny is the right person to lead that team.“
Safety is another area where Kenny sets the tone. Eric Allen, Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety, says Kenny leads safety with purpose and consistency. His commitment to housekeeping and operational discipline has elevated expectations and improved performance across teams. Kenny shows others what accountability looks like through his actions.
Jeremy Ramberg, Vice President of sister company Lehman-Roberts, recently highlighted that Kenny‘s front-end loader is one of the best-maintained machines in the entire company fleet. Director of Production Eddie Ragsdale adds that Kenny leads by example in every sense of the word. He sets the bar for equipment care, holds a strong safety record, communicates clearly across divisions, and never asks his team to do anything he would not do himself. He is also known as a mentor to newer employees and actively demonstrates the company‘s core values in his daily work.
Assistant Superintendent Henry Reed reflects on Kenny‘s attention to detail as a key reason behind his promotion. He credits Kenny‘s consistency and precision, especially when producing specialty materials, as traits that made him stand out among his peers.
Scott Jefferies, Assistant Superintendent, also speaks highly of Kenny‘s leadership and character. “It is an absolute joy to work with Kenny. He always has a smile on his face and stays positive,“ Scott says. “He inspects the crusher and loader daily to keep production moving and always practices proper lock-out/tag-out procedures during maintenance. What really stands out is that he cares deeply about people and the company and leads by example every day. We are very lucky to have Kenny on our team.“
As Kenny steps into his new role, it is clear his influence reaches far beyond equipment and production. His leadership has shaped culture, improved safety, and raised the standard for what excellence looks like in operations. We congratulate Kenny on this well-earned promotion and look forward to the impact he will continue to make for years to come.
