Our employee of the month series, Blueprint for Excellence, shines a spotlight on our team members who go above and beyond, lead by example, and champion our core values in everything they do. We’re proud to celebrate Stephen Esparza, Exploration Crew Lead, for his exceptional contributions and leadership in the field.
In his role, Stephen oversees all field operations related to the exploration process and manages critical sampling data before submitting it to the Director of Exploration. His work plays a vital role in providing the accurate, reliable information needed to guide key investment decisions for future mining projects.
Stephen’s expertise and dedication have not gone unnoticed by his team. Alan Parks, Vice President, spoke highly of Stephen, sharing, “Stephen has developed a highly technical skill set that is very specialized and unique to our business. There is no fast track to becoming skilled in this role, as it takes years of experience and many reps to build the confidence needed to ensure you get it right.”
He added, “Stephen approaches his position with seriousness, dedication, and passion, and that’s why he is one of the few people in our company’s long history to have that responsibility. In addition to all this, you need grit to be a part of that team, and you need respect to lead it. Stephen has definitely got both!”
Corbin Moore, Director of Exploration and Planning, also praised Stephen’s character and work ethic by adding, “Stephen is someone we can always rely on day in and day out. He is dependable to the core and consistently arrives at work with a positive attitude and a tireless work ethic. He takes on any project and often goes above and beyond without being asked because he genuinely cares about the team’s success.”
He continued, “Most impressively, Stephen does all of this with selflessness, quietly prioritizing the needs of his team members and the company. He perfectly embodies the company’s values and demonstrates them every day.”
