Memphis Stone & Gravel, a Granite Company, has been honored with an annual Community Relations Excellence Award from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA). The company’s Love Plant earned the Silver Level distinction for its continued commitment to community engagement and outreach.
The Community Relations Excellence Award recognizes aggregate producers for their meaningful contributions to the communities they serve and their efforts to enhance public understanding of both their operations and the aggregates industry as a whole.
“Congratulations to our winners for their outstanding contributions to the communities in which they operate,“ said NSSGA President and CEO Michele Stanley. “These facilities demonstrate the benefits that aggregates operations bring to their communities and how the industry supports their neighbors through charity work, community partnerships and more.”
The Love Plant received the award for a variety of community-focused initiatives. These efforts included a three-year commitment to supporting the Hernando Parks and Recreation Department in the development of a new recreational site, as well as organizing food drives for a local food pantry. The team was also recognized for its participation in the company’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Service initiative, during which employees partnered with Baptist Children’s Village to clear walking trails and assist with general maintenance across the organization’s more than 100-acre property.
“This recognition is a reflection of the people behind Memphis Stone & Gravel who are committed to making a positive impact beyond our operations,” said Taylor McPherson, Director of Communications and Engagement. “Helping the communities where we live and work thrive is central to who we are, and we’re proud to see that commitment recognized through this award.”
